Who Is A Mentee And What Are The Requirements?

The Mentor Program provides newly licensed agents a learning platform where you will gain the fundamental knowledge required to start and build a successful real estate career. Each mentee is paired with a certified eXp Realty mentor who is a member of the same MLS.

Any new licensee that joins eXp Realty that has not completed a minimum of three real estate transactions (residential or land/lot sale) in the previous twelve (12) months prior to joining are required to participate in eXp’s Mentor Program. Each new agent is paired with an experienced agent who is a state broker approved Certified Mentor shortly after the new agent’s license is transferred to eXp Realty. You can not opt out of the Mentor Program. It is up to the State Broker Team to determine if a mentee qualifies to be waived. Contact your State Broker Team for more information.

Effective April 1, 2021 for NC Agents: All provisional brokers AND those who have not completed three (3) transactions within the previous twelve (12) month period are required to participate as a mentee in the program even if North Carolina is not the primary licensed state.

WHO IS A MENTEE - Washington State

Any broker in the state of Washington who has not conducted three (3) real estate transactions in the previous twelve (12) month period AND who has been licensed for less than two years is required to participate as a mentee in the program even if Washington is not the primary licensed state.

Mentee Expectations

We want you to be successful and will provide you with the tools and resources to do so, however, your success also depends on what you put into the Program. Accountability of yourself within the Program is important, so review the following information to understand what is expected of you as a mentee.
  • Attend state meetings and meet with their mentor regularly until the mentee graduates from the Program.
  • Attend the weekly eXp Leadership Meeting on Fridays at 8 a.m. PT/ 11 a.m. ET in the eXp World Auditorium (also available through the eXp Realty World App or streamed to Workplace).

  • Attend and complete the following core eXp Realty classes: Skyslope, World Tour, and Agent Orientation: eXp Event Calendar

  • Complete all Mentor Program course curriculums (including the GO! Curriculum) in eXp’s learning management system, including all course assignments. The GO! Curriculum aims to establish the standards for the Mentee’s experience within the Mentor Program and equip Mentees with the best educational foundation necessary to jump-start their real estate business. Not only will the Curriculum provide the Mentee with a robust transactional foundation to stand on, but also consistency in their experience and expectations about the Program. Some assignments will require mentor participation and oversight; including, but not limited to, state-specific content. Mentee is aware of and agrees to complete this coursework within the first 90 days of being paired with a mentor

  • Make themselves available, and adjust their schedules accordingly, in order to “shadow” their mentor on each of the following meetings at least once, should that be required by the mentor. Below are examples of appointments that a mentee might shadow or role play with their mentor, depending on their mentor's area of expertise:
    • Listing Appointment
    • Buyer Presentation

    • Presenting the Contract

    • Home Inspection/Negotiating the Repairs

    • Final Walkthrough

    • Closing Appointment

  • A mentee shall pay the Mentor fee of 20% on their required transactions within the Program.
